Episode Ideas

While the Pilot will be posted in full-detail, here are Synopsises for three concept episodes

Working Episode Title “A Magic Encore”

“I’m gonna put more than a spell on you wise guy!”-Magic Man

Ellie wakes up to her mother calling through the ajar door, she looks at Tyson sleeping in his cage and thinks of the weird dream she just had, she walks downstairs to see the door open and her mom calling from outside, saying they’re both late and need to eat in the car and get to work/school.

 After another lonely day, while her mother watches TV, Ellie returns home and draws some of the characters she met in her dream using the light of the TV, as night falls she goes to bed wishing she could go back, amazingly she does indeed wake up at the exact same spot of the park, with Tyson and Squidgy acting as if nothing’s happened.

While enjoying the park again, Ellie accidentally creates Magic Man, a teenage wizard superhero based on the movie Ellie’s mother was watching earlier, Surprisingly, Magic Man greets Squidgy like an old friend, which surprises Squidgy, confuses Ellie and angers Tyson, this leads to a scuffle between the two.

Believing she’s in danger, Magic-Man flies Ellie to a nearby castle to keep her safe, where she finds a hotel-like suite for her to use, as she argues with Magic Man, who believes he was created to protect Ellie, Squidgy and Tyson arrive believing they need to hold a daring rescue attempt.

 Realising he shouldn’t have taken Ellie away, Magic-Man apologizes and flies off, letting Ellie enjoy the park without him.

 Meanwhile in the day after Ellie’s mother explains the dreams she had as a child, of a crazy-magical world, and her favourite movie-wizard to guide her…

Working Episode title “Border Closure”

“Ellie’s World-Shutting Down”-Squidgy

Ellie returns to the real world after another fun day in the park with her friends, at school the next day, she meets Naomi, a new student who like, Ellie doesn’t talk to the other students, in a chance encounter the two bond over lunchtime and lessons and leave school that day with a budding friendship. 

A few hours later, Ellie goes to bed eagerly anticipating a new adventure in the park, however she awakens almost immediately the next day in her room.

Saddened that her adventures seemed to have stopped, she continues to go to school confused and sad but happy as she plays with Naomi. As weeks pass without her falling asleep to the park, she begins to wonder if she’ll ever return, while outside, her friendship with Naomi grows stronger, going on trips during the weekend.

One day Naomi comes to school sad, revealing that her parents are moving away immediately. She says goodbye to Ellie who goes home and cries, feeling especially lonely again.

As she falls asleep in tears, she finds to her amazement that’s awakened back in her world. Happy but confused, Squidgy and Tyson suggest she uses her sadness over losing a friend to create someone who may be able to explain her own emotions, instead of having to explain the idea of feelings to her creations. 

Ellie creates Droplet, similar to squidgy, but shaped like a waterdrop, and lacking major emotions. Ellie asks droplet to explain what’s been going on, droplet explains that this world is meant for the loneliest people, and although Ellie was saddened during her time away, she was less lonely because of Naomi. The episode ends with Ellie happy to return to the park, but anxious over how quickly she could lose her ability to access the world.

Working Episode Title “Squidgies at Sea”

“Y’arrr me scallywags, would you like further information?”-Pirate Squidgy

Ellie, Squidgy and Tyson, take a pirate ship from the harbour and sail out to sea. Enjoying being the captain of her own ship, she soon realises however that the seas are quite empty save for a few deserted islands.

Wanting to make the pirate life more exciting, she imagines up a whole armada of Pirate Ships, who go off on their own adventures, however one ship, captained by a Pirate known as Grey Hands, tells Ellie of a sunken treasure on an island close to the mainland.

Initially leading Ellie and Co to the island, Grey Hands soon turns on them and begins firing their cannons towards their ship, Squidgy, memorizing the map Grey Hands had shown them, leads Ellie on a race against the Pirates to the treasure. Arriving at the X first, Ellie & Tyson dig to find a treasure chest but before they can open it, they’re confronted by Grey Hands and, to their surprise, a pirate robot identical to Squidgy. 

They run back to their ship but are attacked again by the pirates after a dramatic cannon fight Grey hands falls overboard and is left floating on a raft.

Danger passed, Ellie and Co head back to the park and open the chest, only to strangely find a chest filled with strange toys and drawings from many different people. 

Disappointed by their findings but enjoying the adventure, Ellie dumps the chest in her castle room.

Meanwhile Greyhands makes land on a very small island, annoyed by his Squidgy making findings of everything around him.
